Locum Caregiver
Locum Caregiver helps caregivers to work at a nursing home temporary. The goal is to help caregivers to earn extra income and gain work experience. Nursing homes that faces staff shortage can benefit from this app to fill-in temporary caregivers and save the cost of recruiting full-time staff. Volunteers from community or students can volunteer to make a positive impact to the lives of older adults in the nursing home.

I interviewed one full-time caregiver staff that works at a senior home center. Her role was to coordinate activities every week and organize events during special holidays. She has to do the administrative work, ordering food, and setting up decorations. Through the interview, I discovered her struggles coordinating activities with a small amount of helpers.
"I've been working here for nearly 15 years and we are always running short of staff. I have to do everything by myself. This is a very serious problem in many senior home centers."

To start, I first develop the logo for my app to set the tone, mood, and overall look of my app. The name of the app is Locum Caregiver. Below are a few sketches of logos I've brainstormed. I presented these logo to 4 people and asked them which logo stood out to me. 3 people voted the bottom right, and 1 person voted the bottom left. Hence, the primary logo was decided based on the majority of votes.
